As we all know a drone can be inform of planes or helicopters, though currently one of the most popular and famous drone in the market is quadcopter. Due its solid features like small size, precision control and agility its stand out from the other drones.
So lets take a look at what is exactly a quadcopter is…
What is a Quadcopter ?
A quadcopter also known as a multirotor helicopter is one of the most interesting types of drone among all drone categories. A quadcopter is also called a quadrotor helicopter, this helicopters are lifted and propelled by four rotors. Quadcopters generally uses two pairs of identical fixed pitched propellers; two clock wise (cw) and two counter clock wise (ccw) propellers.
These utilization free variety of the speed of every rotor to accomplish control. A quadcopter is little different from the conventional helicopters and at a tiny size quadcopters are cheaper and more durable than conventional helicopters due to their mechanical simplicity. Though, as their size increases, they develop disadvantages over more conventional helicopters.
Military in different countries first used drones and quadcopters for war. The Austrian military first developed these devices for combat purpose. In 1849, the Austrians first attacked Venice, in Italy. With unnamed air balloons filled with explosives. Other automated aircraft, developed by the US and British Military, soon followed the path.
This quadrotor helicopters has a long history behind them. A four-rotor helicopter designed by Louis Breguet. was the first of its kind. This was the first rotary wing aircraft to ever lift off the ground, although only for few feet.
Though many believed that the real success came in the year of 1922, when Etienne Oemichen first flew Oehmichen #2 in the month of November that year. Many believed that Etienne Oemichen developed the first ever successful quadrotor. Most experts also agree that Oemichen created the very first reliable helicopter capable of carrying a person.
The design of Oemichen’s helicopter had two propellers spin in two clock wise and two spin in the two counter clock wise.
The convertawings Models of a quadcopter was designed by Dr. George E Bothezat, appeared in 1956. It was the first to use propellers to control an aircraft’s roll, pitch and yaw. The Curtis Wright V27, developed by the Curtis Wright Company followed in 1958.

It is a bird? It is a plane? No it’s dynamic remotely operated navigation equipment, more commonly known as a drone. These unnamed devices are everywhere and they can do everything from saving lives to delivering pizza.
Today drones are no longer only operated by the military , with smaller versions utilized by companies and individuals for a wide range of reasons. Here we explore their power for good, for bad and for making all of our lives a lot easier.
